Changes in progress

I won’t be able to update the Library Kids website while it is being transferred to a new host. This will happen sometime this week. Until then, you can still access the event calendar to see what is going on in the Children’s department and don’t forget, we are on Facebook-Bradford Memorial Library, and Twitter -Youth Services! We are also on Pintrest!

Friends of the Bradford Memorial Library are holding a fundraiser Sloppy Joe Dinner, April 27. Bring your money and your appetites. Baked goods auction to follow.

May 11 and 12 the Friends of the library are having a used booksale.

 Come celebrate six decades of education at Skelly and Washington Schools

Thursday, March 15

8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Photos, yearbooks and other historical memorabilia will be on display in the school libraries. Everyone is invited to walk through the buildings, browse the displays and enjoy refreshments in the school libraries.

We are sorry to report that another children’s author has passed away. Jan Berenstain, who with her husband Stan, wrote the beloved Berenstain Bears books, has died.

In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2, Brianne is throwing a Dr. Seuss Birthday extravaganza!

Kids in grades K-5th  are invited to come to the library tomorrow, Feb. 28 at 4:00, for stories, games, and Seussical crafts. Come join the fun and bring a friend!

Children under the age of seven must be accompanied by an adult while at the library.

Mardi Gras !!!

Can’t get to New Orleans? Come by the library tomorrow, Tuesday, February 21, from 4:00 to 6:00, and make a Mardi Gras mask!

This make and take event is open to all ages.

Chocolate!!!

Brianne is presenting a program today at 4:00 all about CHOCOLATE! Stories, games, and more! If you are in grades K-5th, this is for you! It will be too cold to play outside, so come on over to the library for an hour of fun after school today.

Food will be served, so if you have a food allergy, be sure to let us know!

Author Bill Wallace Dies

Sorry to report this sad news.

The Oklahoman and the Chickasha papers have reported the passing of William “Bill” Wallace of lung cancer. He was 64. He won the Oklahoma Sequoyah Children’s Book Award for “A Dog Called Kitty” and “Beauty”. Wallace and his works were honored by eight other state children’s awards including Texas, Utah, Florida, Arizona and the Pacific Northwest Territory Award. In 2000 he was the Arrell M. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award. We will miss him.

January programming begins tomorrow, January 10th, at 4PM. Brianne is presenting the elementary program, “Let It Snow!” The program is for kids in grades K-5th. Come to the Clymer room for stories, games and a craft!
